Rest in Pieces, Akane

(my former 1986 Honda Civic Wagon)

I had Akane from February 16 1997 till April 1998. She was an automatic, but I still loved her. In fact, it was her automatic transmission which had a fatal injury. Or, there was no way I could afford to have the transmission fixed ($2600, more than she was worth).

Once I gave her tires to The Blue Lion, it would have been about $2800 to fix her.

She had a CD player, which I gave to Rachel. All of her pictures are from Ranma 1/2, by Rumiko Takahashi. Those I simply could not part with.

Andri designed and penned in the artwork, and Rachel and I painted it in.

(Driver side) Gas cap: Says "Akane."
That's in my room now too.

Passenger side rear panel: Says "By: Thane '97"
The signature is going with the car (I'm donating what's left of her to charity for a tax write-off).

Passenger side rear door: Genma holding sign: "ashi@carhart.com."
This door is in my back yard. I'm going to take it to Andri next time I drive to Seattle.

Driver side rear door: Akane. This one was penned in a few months before the others, and it's my favorite.
Naturally, this door is now in my room.
